School terms and vacation periods for compulsory school
The school year is divided into terms and vacation periods. Exactly when the fall term, spring term and vacation periods start and end is decided by the authority in charge of the education at your school.
A school year consists of 40 weeks, with at least 178 school days and at least 12 vacation days. Municipal compulsory schools have the same dates for vacations. If your child attends an independent school, contact the school for information about term times and holidays.
